Well... this Blue Heron decided to perch on the Purple Martin house at the Fairhope Pier!! It was actually more of a 'feet' that you might imagine. There is a wire installed across the roof line of the bird house to prevent birds from sitting directly on the roof (?). This is fine for the small birds who use the wire as a perch, however this heron had to balance his feet OVER the wire, leaning on his toes to give support for his large body. Pretty funny watching the balancing act with his feet.Oh yeah, and the gorgeous sunset was pretty hard to take your eyes off of too.
